  • I think there’s a very specific group of people that would like this and most of them are able to replay it by ear, especially once they know what key it’s in.

But if you know the chords, and you can correspond a chord to a specific section of the melody, you’ll know that the notes are within that scale.

If this is too cumbersome, you might isolate the melody with something like Audacity or another DAW-like tool, look for a wav to midi converter and import the midi in a DAW to see the notes. YMMV.

In any event, if there is no sheet music, note progression or anything like that available, you will need to do some of the work yourself.

You’re somewhat correct of course but the NSFW tag exists for a reason. If there is one entire category of /all you can just filter out due to lack of interest, it should be stuff like that. Maybe at some point we’ll also get an ‘AI’ tag.

The pro of being able to ‘safely’, for lack of a better term, browse /all is being able to discover stuff that you are not subscribed to, stuff you might not find otherwise.

  • Dunno who you’re referring to but the Stop Killing Games petition was started when Ubisoft announced that gamers would no longer be able to play The Crew, despite having bought it.

It’s not new that online functionality is turned off after the player base dies down, but to be completely unable to play a game that can be played offline is crazy.

So now there’s a petition circulating, but it’s nearing its end. There are only a couple of days left I think.

It’s a petition for the EU (or maybe Europe or the EER, I’m not sure), and every country needs a certain amount of signatures. I think some Mediterranean island nations are still lagging, but most countries have plenty now.

If you’re in Europe, find the petition and sign it. Especially if you live in Malta or Cyprus.

  • I don’t think the two are at all comparable. F1TV shows live content whereas Netflix is more of a library. Considering their monthly fee, how many minutes of content would you have to watch for a minute to be as expensive as a minute of F1? In the end, it all boils down to if you find it worth the money.

Essentially, F1TV could create a separate subscription for just the qualifying and races, leave out all the talking and nonsense, no supporting races et cetera. I think that would generate a lot of users that find 95 a year too steep.

  • Depends on where you live. But considering you get 24 live races, it’s around four euros a race so less than a euro per session if you watch all the qualifying and practice. If you also watch F2 and F3 it’s even less per race.

65 was really cheap, I think them finally deciding to ask a higher price after all these years of giveaways and discounts is not that odd.

I’ll stick with it for now, but I will keep an eye on what they do in the following years. The alternative in the Netherlands is Viaplay, which is considerably more expensive but gives you a lot more sorts and tv shows. On the other hand, their F1 was so bad they just include F1TV now.
