If you are afraid about the capabilities of AI you should use it. Take one week to use chatgpt heavily in your daily tasks. Take one week to use copilot heavily.

Converting from jpeg to jxl comes some serious space savings and can be done losslessly.
The original image formats for the web, jpeg, gif, png, all have major benefits compared to each other. That’s why they were successful.
We change video formats without any major benefits of one over the other. I think it’s totally reasonable to do the same with image formats. Especially the data can be losslessly compressed even more.
I wouldn’t call speed a major factor for image processing anyway. It’s hugely important for movies, where AVIF is coming from, but much less so when there is no hard 30x2160x3840 pixels/s benchmark you need to reach.

Not sure what the promises were that you in particular heard. But 3D printing is a fundamental part of prototyping now. The vast majority of companies designing physical products have 3D printers to try out new ideas.

I’m reading some /r/hfy stories. Since I no longer get notifications for reddit pm, I have replaced it with the RSS Feed for “posts by user xxx”. RSS also works like a subscription on royal roads, the alternative that a lot of writers switched to.

I can see his reasoning. In fact, I apply the same to cyclist roads here in Germany. My city does not have a (guessing here) 3km long cycle road. We have 5 short ones and cyclists lose their priority whenever a road crosses.
But even with his argument I don’t think he would be allowed to drive on the first section of the bus lane. After all he did not use that part to make a turn, he used that part to continue straight onto the other section of bus lane.

Wenn man nicht Ortsgebunden ist würde ich definitiv aufs Land tendieren. Nicht mitten in die Pampa, wo zehn Häuser schon als Dorf zählen. Aber halt so was zwischen 1k-15k Einwohner. Bäcker, Supermarkt, Grundschule, Zugabbindung in eine Großstadt. Viel bessere Luft und viel mehr Spielmöglichkeiten als in einer Stadt.
Bezüglich Schulen hört man hauptsächlich aus den Großstädten was schlimmes. Und zumindest was die tatsächliche Lehre angeht schneidet Bayern, zusammen mit Baden-Württemberg und Sachsen, am besten ab.
