May his liver wither and fail

May his liver wither and fail

When I see people make statements like this, I tend to disregard what they’re saying. If you aren’t taking concrete actions to help then your words aren’t worth a damn. People can change, sure, but words are not enough.
I doubt she actually recognizes the error of her ways and starts helping affected communities. But if she does, there is a path to redemption that way.
Until then, yes, you’re an idiot. Show us you can be something more than that, if you can.

Pork, actually. Everyone’s favorite dish: gilded long pig

If you’re in an area where open carry is allowed, it may be worth seeing if there is a JBGC nearby that might be open to helping provide security

Cowardice alone will not save you. There will always be further demands to erode your freedoms and your morals and ethics. Find where your line is now or they will continue to chip away at who you are and what you care about until you fit the mold they want you to.

Yes, that’s exactly the point. There is always the potential for consequences, no matter how small.

Freedom of expression is not freedom from consequences. Too many people seem to think that is the case. Sure, the government shouldn’t be able to retaliate, but that doesn’t mean everyone else has to just go along with what was said.
I am guessing that you treat people differently if they say something you find offensive.

I am very ok with Trump encouraging behavior that could kill his followers. I hope they take his advice and go even if they’re very sick with COVID.

It gets even better when you realize the US hasn’t actually formally declared war since WWII. We don’t do “war” anymore. But we still kill a helluva lot of people. Mostly civilians.
While I understand the sentiment, it honestly seems misplaced. We should be able to have completely honest conversations about the dead, even if it is conversations about the terrible things they did. A lot of dead people deserve people speaking ill about them.
Why do you say that? I know she accomplished a lot, but I’m tired of retroactively heaping praise on people when we can often learn from their failings. We can acknowledge what she did while still using her failings to hopefully learn a lesson.
I hope she’s remembered for not retiring when she should have (she shouldn’t have run for this last term, and honestly probably the term before that) and derailing judicial appointments. She should be remembered as a failure and a cautionary tale. I hope she inspires other old politicians to think about whether their legacies will be tarnished as well.

Since they moved the kids across state lines at one point, doesn’t that mean the FBI could get involved? Sounds like trafficking to me

This is just a play to get his rubes to give him more money. Doesn’t matter what he says or shows, lots of morons will go e him cash that he’ll funnel right into his lawyers pockets. Like so many other things, this is a play for cash and time. Keep giving red meat to the base and they’ll keep lining his pockets

When will Republicans have their own Night of the Long Knives?

This is why there is so much focus now on stripping rights from trans and other LGBTQ+ people. They needed some other rallying cry around “saving the children.” And it also helps create a group of others for their fascistic instincts.

They are also often in favor of the death penalty for certain crimes. These people are not internally consistent at all. And honestly, with the amount of issues in the Bible, you have to be very comfortable with a lack of consistency to be that religious anyway. Not that most of them are actually really reading the Bible. Seems like most just ingest whatever their preacher decides to tell them.

Lots of people seem happy to vote against their own self interests. They fail to imagine a future where they may want to use the same mechanism to help themselves. Honestly, I’ve just accepted that a large portion of people are incredibly stupid, easily manipulated, and lack any sort of understanding of how their actions may impact their own future.
Hopefully they dont win this special election. Good luck to those voting No!
Sadly, you’re probably right
