2213·2 years agoNo disagreements about about him being a prick, but wishing cancer and even death on another person seems pretty wild to me.

Technology@lemmy.world•Google search is losing the fight with SEO spam, study saysEnglish
31·2 years agoNo joke, I’ve been using Bing’s GPT-4 search and it’s helped me much more frequently than Google lately. AI might actually be where Bing out-competes Google.
I find it funny that Americans (esp. Republicans) who love to «win» at all things, would be fine to allow Russia to win against the west in Ukraine. I think if they decide to stay on their isolationist path, Lavrov’s propaganda from earlier in the week will come true, and the US will seize to be a superpower. «Greatest country in the world»? Starting to look pretty weak to me.
Somehow I don’t think there’s much risk of anyone doing it willingly…

Technology@lemmy.world•Apple has seemingly found a way to block Android’s new iMessage appEnglish
61·2 years agoThis is literally perpetuated by schoolyard bullying. Anyone over the age of 20 will very likely be entirely out of touch with how big a deal green/blue is for pre-teens and teens these days. It’s pretty much a cornerstone in teen social structures.

4·2 years agoYeah can I get adblock on iPhone with Firefox?
Absolutely right - Signing up needs to be as easy as signing up for reddit. And same with searching for and subscribing to communities, even on other instances. Your average user wants the technical details of the Fediverse abstracted away from them. Anything beyond that and adoption won’t be what we (most of us?) would like it to be.

Technology@lemmy.ml•That Google memo about having ‘no moat’ in AI was real — and Google’s AI boss disagrees with it
5·2 years agoAnyone able to tell me which open source AI models the memo might be referring to? I’m not up to date on the landscape here and would love to know more.

Technology@lemmy.world•As Threads app thrives, experts warn of Meta’s string of privacy violationsEnglish
14·2 years agoIs it actually thriving? I haven’t downloaded it or made an account to check so I wouldn’t know, but I would’ve thought I’d have seen the content referenced from other places if this was the case… So far I think I’ve seen one Thread screenshotted and linked and it was Zuck’s demo one or something…
1Password isn’t open source, is it? I use it and I’m super happy with it though. I don’t mind paying a bit for good security. I do wish it was OSS though.
What’s wrong with «wefwef»? Genuine question I guess 😂

Technology@lemmy.world•Reddit Gives Final Warning to Subreddits Using NSFW Protest TacticEnglish
1056·2 years agoAnd what will people post on lemmy about?

I agree this seems to be more a case of Europe having cracked the code on how to manipulate Trump. That being said, I feel like they’re walking a very fine line between dangling the keys to the kingdom in front of the baby, and handing them over.
