Is it actually missing or was it just transferred from Covid relief to the project fund? Now the administration of the project fund has had it’s own issues that need better control.

I’ve been agnostic ever since I heard it 30 years ago but I’m starting to lean back toward atheist because shit’s getting ridiculous.

As much as I agree with the premise, I think you kid yourself when you don’t look at the power structure. While in the earliest of times you could definitely blame the entire race, I’d rather concentrate on the current situation.

Maybe it was boredom. I mean, when effortlessly power everything sometimes you just need a break.

It’s a perfect cover to call people cynics for simply revealing the poor situation we find ourselves in. The denial will never end. This was one of the best sentences I’ve read in a while. Very succinct, thanks.
Exactly! Eliminate the root cause of a problem and it will work its way out of the system.
Never works! People are too stupid.

To stray from the comments so far may I say that I object to one more project being handed to Quebec while they continue to talk separation. For the last few decades they’ve been getting all kinds of perks to help convince them to stay. That has to come to an abrupt end.

These ineffectual, half assed attempts are only going to scare the rest of them underground.

There is no doubt in my mind that the time has come to end this!

I don’t know how many more truths I can handle. Can’t someone just please lie to me?

I really loved programming back then too. And don’t forget arrogance and self promotion (though maybe covered under rude).

Back when I started it was the norm to get a job with whoever would hire you so that you get the experience to grow and improve your lot in life. I was in a field where if I wanted to move I could get a new job right away. This led to the enviable position to work in a number of different industries, which taught me so much about business and industry. Along the way I worked for some great people but ultimately I would encounter some pretty questionable practices/points of view that were discouraging. As much as I’m sure today’s world is a much different experience, the ability to collaborate with strangers I think is a game changer. My brain doesn’t function well enough now to survive in this environment but I agree that this can lead to positive change. One caveat is that it allows both good and bad actors to excel.

I got into computing early on (high school Fortran programming on punch cards, lol) and really loved it, more so when we switched to BASIC the second year. I decided to pursue that as my career as well and really enjoyed it until retirement. What I think took some fun out of it was my dealings with corporate structure. I think the thing to remember is the seperation between that thing you love and the system that you have to work within to achieve success.

It’s not a question of blame. It’s about having the courage to take ownership of your collective guilt. Have fun with that.

I appreciate why you don’t agree with my philosophy, I too struggled to come to terms with blaming people who are only dragged along for the ride. In many cases it doesn’t really hold true as it comes off as “blame the victim”, which is not my intent. Ultimately it could lead to a fight where I hope you all have the courage to pick a side rather than flee or hide.

Not stupid, just my own belief. Without someone taking responsibility, where do we end up?

Having to say, “I didn’t vote for this” isn’t much different than “I was just taking orders”. Obviously the extent of the damage being inflicted matters here, but at this point I would suggest you be “All in”!

Wouldn’t there also be the question of what is sound? Aren’t there plenty of phenomena that allow us to “hear” something through space. Is it something like the medium is the message?

First and foremost, besieged nation. Like The Soviet Union, besieged by corruption. The Middle East, besieged by greed for oil money. Saddest the former beacon, the United States of America, by religious dogmas. None of any examples you could mention will be different. They’re all driven by people of similar character, made by their genes and life experiences. How can we change our evolution and society to reduce the impact of these negative influences.
Nice to see research shared like this, thanks. I’ve always been fascinated by facial similarities. The other thing I often look at, especially when pronounced, is the difference in the two hemispheres of the face.
