Is CS not a good option these days?
Sadbutdru@sopuli.xyzto Ask Electronics@discuss.tchncs.de•How do I get these Crts to display an Image?English11·22 hours agoI’m not sure exactly what you’re asking, and I probably don’t know the answer anyway, but I felt compelled to add a safety warning for anyone working with these.
The CRTs themselves can hold a high voltage for a long time, please be very very careful.
Sadbutdru@sopuli.xyzto ADHD memes@lemmy.dbzer0.com•What's your organisation system?English4·2 days agoPersonally I use a continuous never ending to- do list, tiny writing on an A4 piece of paper folded into 16ths.
Seeing all the crossed out tasks makes me feel proud, seeing something not crossed out in an older area gives me guilt, and overall it just keeps me connected to the futility of existence. 😁

If you read the article, it describes how the study used stationary bike cycling to test the fitness of their subjects. Then years later they found a link between being ‘highly fit’ and reduced incidence of dementia.
There was absolutely nothing to back up the claim that cycling has more effect on dementia risk than other forms of exercise, but they make that the whole framing for the article.

What, you’re going to run the dishwasher with only one item in it?
Fair enough.
I’ve never used one anywhere but a toilet or sink, that I can remember. How does one use it in the boudoir?
I clogged the toilet while visiting a friend’s house at 11 years old. Didn’t know what to do, tried to ignore the problem. When his mum noticed, she fetched me a plunger and sent me back in there to sort it out.
It’s just a social convention.
A mere faux pas.
I don’t think that’s equivalent.
Many people happily lick the areas where sex toys are used.
Far less people would do so where toilet plungers tend to be applied.
We don’t know that it’s directly on the carpet. When i want to put my thinkpad on a soft surface I use the Beano annual as a handy intermediate layer (other A4 hardbacks are available).
Many human activities cause climate change. LLMs are a relatively new one, and a disproportionate energy user, so it’s fair enough to shout about it and try to minimise adoption. Things that are already entrenched like consumer culture or aviation will be harder and slower to undo.
Also, whether it’s right or not that capitalism is largely to blame, if you take that to mean that the only useful action against climate change is fighting against capitalism, or let yourself feel like you’ve ‘done your part’ by having anticapitalist opinions, I think that’s counterproductive.
Oh how the turntables…
Exactly, they’re too busy judging the junkies coming in for their methadone to worry about how ugly op is.
Probably umbilical cord.
