Nobody likes a sucker, especially the kind that fall for fruit tarts like you. I knew there was trouble. I could smell it on the hot evening breeze. Fortunately for me, trouble is my favorite thing… Because I’m Joe Milkshake. I kicked down the door with one swift, decisive motion.

On android there is a client for it, called Jellybook, but I have never used it. Maybe that has better UI than the official app.
Dat some gud link
Thats great and commendable. But the fact is the schools do not have that running, else they would not need the Chromebooks in the first place, would they? They still have to get this started which means employing and paying someone to do this, having budget for paying the servers and whatnot. Seeing how efficient governmental work is, it won’t be as easy as borrowing some server capacity from a different government agency plus one of their IT guys for a short while.
All true, however there is some truly depraved shit available online and I would argue prior to the internet you would have a much lower chance of getting exposed to that. And thats the stuff that can change you in not so good ways.
I mean, 2 girls 1 cup would have never been on any TV station. Real decapitations probably not either. Some of the graphic war footage we see today, some of it might be on TV but the real gory stuff, not really.
I know these are maybe outliers, but still, you can get to experience a lot more freaky shit these days than back in the day with no internet. And a lot easier or worse, by accident.
Edit: also being exposed to stuff like TikTok these days is a bit different than reading magazines about the latest looks. Selfies were not a thing before you had phones with cameras (and internet) either. There are a lot of differences from back then to now.
I applaud your optimism that there are enough people employed in the school IT to do that properly.
Don’t get me wrong, you are absolutely right with those statements, but the schools used Chromebooks for a reason I would think, the same reason that if they had not used Chromebooks it would be some Windows installation.
It is what people know, it is “easy” to work with and so on. Those are obviously not great reasons and not 100% true, but that is what counts for those schools.
I am very curious what they are going to replace this with and I am unfortunately 100% sure it is going to be Windows and the Onedrive/Outlook ecosystem.
Well that does not work if you only increase the price.
That and the constant public masturbation are dead giveaways.
You are stuff
Uuuh, no thanks.
There used to be an institution in Germany, abbreviated BPJM (I will spare you the full German name) that checked if games are in need of being restricted due to excessive violence. They curated a public list of games that were only acessible for age 18+ to purchase. You can imagine what this list did for young teenage gamers, it was the forbidden fruit, the Streisand-effect before the Streisand. I played those games before I was 18 and that rating had a bit to do with that. It was colloquially called the Index and so any game that would make it to the Index would be highly sought after by gamer teens.
In other news this institution is the reason why there were some specific changes in a few games for the German market. From what I remember, Command and Conquer ( yes the RTS, not just FPS games went on there) had to change the color of blood for the human soldiers which became robots/cyborgs whatever in the German version.
Look, Picard Season 03 was in my opinion done to save that series, the two prior seasons were really bad, so they went finally with what was foolproof, fan-service.
I wouldn’t say there was any need to wrap up anything for TNG, I am not complaining they did, I liked it, but this only happened to save face for the prior two seasons.
Fucks sake, why does it have to be a 10 minute video to get a simple, short answer?
Aren’t those just minty peas? I think the mint changes the color a bit. Which by the way taste atrocious, yet another terrible British food item.
Soda is carbonated though, or are there any sodas that aren’t? So if anything Ketchup is flat soda, therefore disgusting to drink.
Sounds like you need a bigger bathtub. With a pier.
The Grand Nagus advocating for free and open source software… there must be a novel rule of acquisition I have not heard about yet!
