Ok thanks. “Even MIT” is something i agree on. And the author decides of course. But this means that big corp can ‘steal’ the code. It also means you can build extensions and other stuff that are not MIT. And then it gets muddy.

No… But i’ve thought about how easy it would be to implement in ebooks and pdfs (e.g. my daily newspaper i can download as pdf). I’ve thought about this when sailing the high seas.

If i remember correctly sone tokens it can’t read? Cant backup? Clunky interface? I looked at it, but decided against it.

For me aegis is by far the best. Simple. Encrypted. Backup. It’s saved to a syncthing folder. Passwords are in bitwarden for simpme stuff but keepassxc is great. And also synced via syncthing.

I (not op) have a 100 mbps connection. That’s not very fast. Would i even benefit from such a router? I currently have 2 x asus RT-AC88U but the mesh functionality is not great. I have brig walls. The way i understand it, for my needs, wiring is the only way to go?

Markor + synvthing

Joplin uses it’s own database so interoperability is not perfect. Markor is so effing cool. That’s on Android. On the laptop I use want ever is best suited for the task. Most often, a vim variant of notepad++

You will probably have tradeoffs. And somehow need to script accept that at some point, you need to trust someone. At the very least with firmware. And you probably need to change workflow.

I find cryptpadb works almost as well as Google docs did a few years ago.

My confidence in signal is greater than my confidence in a random fork. Privacy is hard… So I feel it’s better to trust something less than ideal, than to trust a random dude promising to solve all problems…

That’s just my threat model.

Not sure I trust a random repo here. I dont have the skill to look through the code. In this regard I prefer - after all - gboard. The changes me login credentials get stolen by google are smaller than the chanches I am duped into installing a random keyboard from github. Just based on my threat model and my skillz.
