  • This system is called ADS-B. It’s a peer to peer communication between airplanes where each plane will share its own data (flight level, speed, coordinates, flight number, etc.) and data from other planes by broadcasting it on same frequency as others. Result of this is that all the planes know where other nearby planes are located and their heading thus providing additional safety in avoiding collisions and other issues.

Data being broadcast in all directions means us on the ground can listen to them as well, which is what some sites are doing. Add internet to that mixture and we have a world coverage of every plane on the planet. You might wonder why data is not encrypted or something similar. There’s nothing that can be abused about the data and all this tracking helps enormously with resolving incidents and other useful functionalities like precise arrival estimates and similar.

Now, since every airplane has a registration number, people figured out which plane was hers. Just like they know which plane Musk uses and many others. Data is recorded and known and completely legal, helpful even. If she has issues with this fact solution is rather simple. Get a charter flight or rent a plane and no one is the wiser. This is just rich people entitlement and the only way she can “win” this court case is to go a step further in stepping over the line which is to drown the poor man with legal expenses.

Edit: Oh, also location of boats is known. Not all boats, but commercial ones for sure. Their system is called AIS.

It’s the most underwhelming finale in any game I’ve played. Completely pointless. You work your ass off to establish economy which can sustain building of a ship and then once you are done defending it, you get a black screen saying good job grunt. If they connected it with new game, say what you left the planet with is your new starting gear, then I could see it being more relevant. Kind of set it up for mods with extreme planets and stuff. So you have to prepare on more acceptable planet before going somewhere extreme. The way it currently is makes ending pointless.

  • Theft is not monetary because you didn’t take money away from the creator, hence there’s no “theft” in strict meaning of the word. It’s like saying you stole money from the store because you didn’t pay for the apple. You stole the apple, but not the money. Except in digital world, store would be able to duplicate the apple infinite amount of times, so intellectual property is not missing on the author’s part, you just violated the law because you used it without compensation.

I understand the angle you are coming from, you are seeing it as potential income you have now prevented the creator from earning and phrasing it as theft.

Also, arguing about all of this is pointless, especially online. That’s why lawyer is a life calling and not something anyone can just do as a hobby. Written law is always different from interpreted law and lawyers will try to twist and wiggle around meanings of words as much as possible, which is also the reason why agreements and contracts are written in such a way.

  • Most likely nothing to do with Twitter. He asked for 25% of shares of Tesla so he can, along with his other buddies, be in control of it. Purchase of Twitter and various other failures made him sell almost all the stocks he had. He’s currently sitting at around 13%. But it is possible there’s some payment coming for his Twitter loan and he’s shit out of luck but doesn’t want to sell more stocks. We’ll know for sure if he starts pumping stocks again. Their annual report was just the other day and it was not one of a successful company, no matter how many times he said he’s confident next year this next big thing he came up with on the spot.
