Can someone explain to me why we cannot wrap these deep fakes into existing identity theft law? Or at least impersonating a public official /government employee when it comes to politicians.

Ok then what is your point?i don’t mean to be facetious but is that’s not your point, it’s heavily implied in your second&third paragraphs, then it seems your point is that the people who criticize her haven’t read her work. That’s not really a stance worth arguing as there’s not a lot of evidence or rhetoric that can be brought to support it.
Objectivism is a self centered and unsustainable philosophy. Rand founded and describes it as “the concept of man as a heroic being, with his own happiness as the moral purpose of his life, with productive achievement as his noblest activity, and reason as his only absolute”. A society where every person strives only for their on happiness and as the main character in the world is arguably one of the least viable social systems. That is pretty much the set up of an oligarchy.
Also your argument that she lives through something terrible so she can’t be wrong because that’s her experience doesn’t support her philosophy. She can still be a hypocrite and patently wrong without discounting her early life.
Smh and you didn’t call it grilled cheesecharon
I’m really tired of so many people saying that doing something as a consequence for Trump’s actions would set a new precedent. So many things that he has done are unprecedented. There is no FAQ for when the president refuses to transfer power or when a “billionaire” politician is caught perpetrating decades of multitudes of types of fraud.
The number of countries that pegged their currency to the USD is staggering. If the US defaults for any reason the global economy ceases to exist. Crashed by Adam Tooze is a great deep dive into the 2008 financial crises and goes in depth on how interconnected all the major economies are.
It’s not it’s just a little effort in remembering the couple major details of people you see frequently instead of feeling exhausted from the anxiety of being stuck in a conversation.
Answer their question with questions. If they ask about your weekend all about their’s then followup on a detail. They will talk for a couple minutes then end with some version of “hey great chat but I need to get a couple things done”. If you want to remain approachable you need to give people the chance to talk but also don’t really need to share much of yourself. Keep tabs on the easy things(kids, spouse, etc) and you have a lot of variations of very basic questions for a short conversation. How’s kid liking school? Did you and spouse have a nice weekend? Then one or two follow up questions to them and you can end the conversation without the other person feeling like you blew them off.
I feel like this is a good time for Dems to gamble and try to push through a quick impeachment vote. Gets it out of the way and allows the focus to be on the Trump trials and spotlight the vulnerable GOP house members.
I feel that this really sums up the sentiment that I notice in my area.
“Most crucially, major corporations crave younger consumers and lifelong brand loyalists. Outside of cable news, older consumers are less attractive to most advertisers. And younger people (meaning anyone under 45!) lean decidedly to the left. The most coveted 18-29-year-old demographic leans farther left than any other. Long gone are the days of the Reagan youth, when 18-24-year-olds backed the Republican over Walter Mondale by over 30 points in the 1984 presidential election, and corporate America catered to them accordingly.”
The 55+ demographic has had the cultural and political focus on them their whole lives. Now that it’s not catering to their opinions they are throwing a tantrum.
If you want that memorialize it like the holocaust museums. Don’t celebrate it with a Monument.
It will never make sense to me why literal, text book definition traitors had memorials. The DoC did the best PR work in history to make that happen.
I don’t see a difference
Anytime anyone scoffs at the idea Republicans will take the extreme right view of a vague law needs to just point at Roe and the states will 6weeks abortion bans.
The big difference is Ohio wasn’t a racial gerrymander, it was an unconstitutional (state) political gerrymander. But yes the play book is the same.
Dude you picked an obscure sub field of mathematics defined by looping a set around a sphere in order to make both positive and negative infinity equal. That’s like saying sea food is bad because I asked something allergic to shell fish if they like it.
My guy, not only are you wrong but the more you try to explain yourself the more you are revealing you don’t understand the subject. The evidence you are bringing up is supporting the premise of infinity not being a value. You are coming to the exact wrong conclusion.
I have a BA in mathematics and a masters in teaching mathematics. I am highly qualified to speak on this. Trust me, you’re wrong.
And him leaving means less money. Guy was an ahole of the highest order but he knew exactly how to get rich Republicans to give out their money. I highly doubt he passes that on and no one currently is in a position to replace him in terms of fund raising.
Just give them a dummy button and play the clip of the death star blowing up or something. They aren’t going to check to make sure it happened. Keep it sending the data just turn off the server side recording it then turn it back on when they inevitably forget about it in a couple weeks.
