Hyrulian@lemmy.worldto linuxmemes@lemmy.world•And I don't plan to switch back either. Everything is just better on Linux for me2·2 years agoThis looks really fascinating. Looks like this may have some more features that I need for my Stream Deck compared to other ones for it on Linux. Might have to hope on a Live USB and check it out. Thanks for sharing!!

Everything is just better on Linux for me41·2 years agoI did take a look at that once before and it didn’t quite have all the features that I use daily on my Stream Deck, but thanks for linking to it! Maybe I should take a look again since it’s been a year or so.

Everything is just better on Linux for me121·2 years agoThere are three things holding me back from making the switch full time, I use a stream deck from Elgato for automating a lot of tasks, I stream VR titles from Steam, and I have an Nvidia graphics card.

If you’re that anti Microsoft why be on any version of Windows when such a great suitable replacement that also still works on these older systems exists?

Hyrulian@lemmy.worldto Games@lemmy.world•What games can you recommend that didn't get the appreciation that they deserved?English10·2 years agoFor me right now, Shadows of Doubt. It is an early access game and it’s got a fair bit of jank, but it’s crazy how unique it is. It had a week or so of popularity and then it fell off. The devs just released an update for it too!
If you like the immersive sim genre, might I also recommend Cruelty Squad and Gloomwood. Those two have very unique aesthetics and really cool mechanics.
Hyrulian@lemmy.worldto Cyberpunk 2077@lemmy.world•If you skip to the beginning of Phantom Liberties with a new game where does that place you in the main storyline? Would this skip the prologue missions, or is it later in the storyline?7·2 years agoIt’s a bit more than just the intro portion. It puts you three or four missions into the “Evelyn” quest line.
I would highly recommend not buying the Steam version of Cave Story and instead downloading the open source Cave Story NX off of FlatHub and other such repos. Cave Story+ on Steam has been abandoned by the developers and they stopped updating it despite releasing countless better versions on other platforms. Definitely not worth paying for an inferior version, but if you have to play on PC you’re better off playing this updated version of the original.

Legends Arceus was the first pokemon game I felt the desire to finish in ten years. It was so unique and interesting. It was very very very rough around the edges, but here’s to hoping that the smaller scope could make a game that’s more polished than Scarlet and Violet and maybe a bit prettier too.
Honestly at this point I almost feel like the only way a Pokemon game with decent graphics could release is if Gamefreak outsources the development.

Hyrulian@lemmy.worldOPto Pokémon@lemmy.ml•I recreated Pallet Town out of 3D Voxels in the game Brickadia.2·2 years agoMaybe! This was a one off project, but I enjoyed it enough to keep going. I imagine once I make enough of the tilemaps into 3D objects it would be pretty easy to fill out parts of the map. I’m debating if I do continue if I want to go systematically by doing Route 1 next, or if I should just do major areas and not worry about connecting them. Height is also a concern since the original game uses fake height, but in 3D we can use real height.

I spend way less time on here than I did reddit. Not to upset about it though, because I feel like it’s only improved my mental health!
