how does one check if there is a Chinese bounty on themselves?
Maybe ask @ Lemmy/ China instance? Make sure you get the correct one.
17 years to recover.
Unbelievably harsh and reality check about what Ruz abuse does to people. Very sad situation, though thumbs up he/she has recovered!
Ed: your friend could be he or she ofc.
The problem I foresee, is that getting the children back, might prove the easiest part of the work (which is a gargantuan task). Restoring these children back to whom they were before being abducted and brainwashed, will be a longer road. I pray for them.
It’s all so fucked up. I mean wtf does it say that such a declaration is even needed?!
Like, please don’t shoot the people that are already dying of malnutrition, thirst and disease, because we like to send help. And, ah yeah, if possible don’t shoot the doctors, nurses and journalists btw.
India seems less and less neutral, if it ever was… And more and more just as neutral as China and North-Korea, as they are actively supporting & collaborating in Ruzz war industry and efforts.
Maybe Modi’s visit to Ukraine will change that, like they claim here: “Narendra Modi’s visit to Ukraine, the world’s most populous nation’s interactions with Ukraine and Russia deserve an in-depth look.”.

“On Monday, 17 February 2025, the UN Emergency Relief Coordinator and the UN High Commissioner for Refugees launched a joint appeal for US$6 billion – the biggest ever Sudan humanitarian appeal – to support close to 21 million people in Sudan and up to 5 million others – primarily refugees in neighbouring countries. Below, we highlight what is really happening in Sudan.”
You really can’t trust that source to provide accurate details…
Agreed, OP should use this source The Journal
prejudice, but a largely positive one
When illusions are broken it’s painful. But it does help us see a clearer path.
Maybe the good part here is that you know who and how you want to be, and who and how you definitely don’t.
There are also just good people who occasionally fuck up, and bad people who occasionally do good, and everything in between, and beyond. Just trust your gut, and you should be ok.
I was hoping that the Irish …
I find your remark somewhat prejudiced. “The Irish are …” bla bla.
Hate crime/ Racism/ Rape & Xenophobia are unfortunately, human behaviour.
And hate crimes world wide are on the rise. Basically, violent crimes in general are on the rise.
Ps: Nothing makes it right whatever happened to the poor guy whom got attacked.
Ps 2: It’s mostly the more powerful, established group who inflicts violence towards the" weaker group ", because the former believes they can get away with it. Honestly, I dont understand hatecrimes myself, so this is what I have come to believe.
" I bought every single supplement, every single fiber that I’m testing, on Amazon.”
Ok…
After all this time there are imo unsufficient details about this "dogfight " or whatever it was. The Rafale was shot down by a J10, but without context I honestly can’t argue any real conclusion.
Also if I was a buying customer ( Indonesia), I’d use any leverage to get a discount.
Well that’s what (market) analysts say, at least for the short term horizon, considering the looming 30%.
And there are also larger things at stake than only tariffs, and that’s what this article is all mainly all about.
Yes! And let us make sure we ALL do our best to keep our freedoms, and win together! Slava Ukriani.
I hope it too because, I don’t want Ukraine to fall and I believe it won’t; and 2. you are right,if Ruz doesn’t fall though I believe they will, we are next.
Technically Europeans (& USA) are already in a warsituation ofcourse. And as China and NK pump up their supplies to Ruz, it’s become a broader partly silent and open war.
would argue “we are not there yet” is exclusively the fault of the EU public.
The citizens have a responsibility, for sure, as do Politicians (see Brexit and/or Nato enlargement). The many cirises that EU needed to face off, also took some of the focus away.
I think the important part is that we have started to move in the right direction, and are gaining momentum, but still Europe is a slow Giant, and things take time.
If we citizens and politicians can work together towards one shared plan, that would definitely speed things up But I’d rather not underestimate internal political divisions, fear, greed, foreign malicious influences and some moral or financial corruption. Though, then again, I believe in the end, we are strong enough to muddle through these hurdles.
Critics in the US are equally if not more worried about their economy, concerning the proposed EU-USA deal.
I believe this meme says it all ( POV USA):

Key takeaways bullets, which are paraphrased later on:
Europe needs to become more self-reliant, yes, unfortunately, today we are not there yet. This event showcases the need to work for more Intra EU co-operation, innovation and streamlining.
"Meanwhile, Brussels emphasizes that the deal goes beyond the economy. “It’s not just about trade. It’s about security. It’s about Ukraine. It’s about current geopolitical volatility,” EU Trade Commissioner Maros Sefcovic in Brussels said on Monday.
He told reporters that while he couldn’t go into all the details of the talks between European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen and US President Donald Trump, he could say for sure that they were about more than just trade. For him, it is a big plus that the two biggest economies and closest allies are on the same page when it comes to the geopolitical issues of today.
“Elvire Fabry, Senior Research Fellow at the Jacques Delors Institute, finds it difficult to even describe the recent talks as negotiations. She argues that the EU’s hands were tied due to its dependence on security guarantees from the US. According to Fabry, the framework conditions would have been entirely different if the EU had not needed US support to help defend Ukraine in its war with Russia.”
“AI chips and weapons “shows Europe’s continued reliance on the US in other ways.” Buying from the US is the “best of bad options” for the EU, she says, and makes it clear that Europe has not achieved strategic autonomy.”
He said the US has the same issues with China in many areas. “So it goes without saying that we should work together with our allies.”
It does seem that way. Unfortunately, the info is yet quite meager. The official EU press release was a bit of a propaganda piece imo. See also this X post
Other outlets are slowly realeasing some info, and one paper states that it’s more of a " principle deal" and that many details need to be worked out. There is a list of zero tariff goods as well.
And, FYI, we were already importing US LNG, and US defense materials. I don’t know about the amounts and specifics of existing contracts though.
Also, we ( EU) will be importing Canadian LNG and other stuff from Canada, in the coming years.
I find the whole westbank occupation style metaphor, whether the real one or the proposed one, the highest insult against human rights and International law right now. They are defaecating the world with their literal screwed up wordview of a horrendous reality, and imposing it as a peace proposal they can boast about. How despicable and low can you go, they keep breaking records… They are soulless, heartless ruthless poor examples of humanity.
