Fair enough, let’s give them what they want. No more funding, no more enforced open boarder with their neighboring states, no more enforcing of IP claims from Utah, no more use of $ as their currency.

American Christianity behaves a lot like an infectious disease. It wants you regardless of how much you hate it and does demonstrable harm to those who have it.
What, you haven’t trained yourself no not consciously read whatever phrase was at the end of that sentence?
Sounds like Utah needs to not be receiving federal funding until such time as they reverse that decision. If that is an insufficient incentive to knock it off then add further penalties until they do.
I really wouldn’t be surprised if we eventually got a study saying ‘Advertising is as bad for your mental health as cigarettes are for your physical health.’
I find that a good set of responses to the greeting question are approximately this: Good/Great - When that’s truthfully how well the day is going OK/Alright - When things aren’t good but aren’t distinctly bad Not Great/Could be better - When it feels like everything is going wrong
Not dishonest to the best of my perception just stripped of context that could be seen as complaints. If they ask for clarification on ‘not great’ then feel free to complain.
It really is an impressive propaganda victory that they’ve painted corporations and ‘businessmen’ as being good and the government and it’s administrators as bad all while there’s plentiful evidence that the cause of so many worker’s plight is their corporate overlords.
I may be mistaken but wasn’t there a striking similarity to past monsters in that prior to committing their atrocities that their supporters believed they were exaggerating or just outright lying about their intentions? Ex the Association of German National Jews endorsing Adolf Hitler.
There’s a lot of things that in a non-dystopia would be good and correct that they are available… however that is precisely what we have, happy to twist and distort absolutely everything until regardless of the intention it is some form of cruelty. Then atop it all we’ve the final insult to our intelligence that somehow we’re the “unreasonable” ones or that we’re meant to find the inane position of meeting the advocates for dystopia halfway reasonable.
Only unrealistic part is Human sniper and the warning.
It’ll be a drone the moment a drone could make the shot with 50.1% odds. can make the shot in sufficiently few shots that cost of ammo & electricity beats wages for a sniper.
Honestly, at this point the only China/USSR bad talking pointthat comes to mind that I haven’t also found in the USA is bread lines… in no small part because the government here doesn’t care if you starve. If you want help jump through the hoops and be used as part of scarry statistics to demonize the poor.
Can you give an example of how this reasoning is suppose to work? Trying to parse this the only behaviors coming to mind are the ‘fire & brimstone’ type. The 'I hate those people ‘cause the pastor said the book says to’.
Okay, now that is cool.
I have an aquarium… generally find a low-stock planted aquarium isn’t too high maintenance. Lights are on a timer (actually spent just a little more for a dim on/off system so they’d have a ‘sunrise’ and ‘sunset’) I feed them when I have dinner, or when I get home if I’m having dinner out of the house. I’ve got tape marking what I try to keep as the minimum water line (warm water, it evaporates over time).
Water changes used to be a big enough chore I’d let it go longer than I should but then I got a nice Python system and now it’s only an issue if there’s dirty dishes in the sink (don’t want to dump tank water on them and the system requires a faucet with temp control)
Thanks! Turns out I was overthinking my problem and going over the basics sparked how to solve the problem.
Yep, I get this problem. Doesn’t help that I sometimes speak with the cadence of Darth Vader which makes it much easier for NTs to interrupt me thinking that I’ve stopped talking.
A few though they’re kind of mood/theme music for times that don’t come up too much. There’s this one synthwave mix, ‘Our Dream’, I love but rarely listen to and then there’s an old piece I enjoy, ‘The Internationale’ (Billy Brag’s rendition), I listen to every now and then but intentionally won’t listen to very frequently like I would something by Sabaton or Jonathan Young.
Have you tried drowning it with music? I’ve found noise-canceling + music to be pretty effective and adjusting the headphones off one ear only when I need to hear my surroundings to work decently well.
To me this is wholly unsurprising. That the mouthpiece for the party most for the suffering of Humanity as a whole would demonize an effective force for empathy, kindness, and humanity. Just one of many cases of accusations on their parts in place being confessions.
