Glitchy things and video games. What even is anything anymore?

I think it’s that we’ve all been over this a million times, and we’re suffering while bickering about steps.
My conclusion: “People matter more than money, and without people money wouldn’t matter.”
If you want to get more nuanced please try. That’s about as bulletproof and simple as it gets.
Okay how do I persuade the rich to stop being rich because it’s unsustainable? Don’t worry, I’ll wait.

They are tired of right clicking Command Prompt to “Run as Administrator”. They’ve been doing it for decades, they can have one tiny piece of QoL improvement.
People don’t like hearing, “Look, we just gotta suffer under capitalism for a while longer because the rich aren’t done having their fun.”
Supposed to be a wave shooter with satire along the lines of Starship Troopers. Like most games these days, it appears to rely on playing with three friends to be fun. Oh, and their new DRM might have killed Steam Deck/Linux compatibility.
I’ve always read it as a mix of “Federated Reddit” and “Fed up with Reddit”.
“Jobs” might be the worst metric to look at overall. How many of those jobs are part-time? How many of those jobs include health insurance? How many of those jobs pay a living wage? How many people have to have two or more of those jobs out of necessity?
Hell, how many of those “jobs” are listings that companies never intend to fill? I’ve seen countless listings for high qualification jobs offering poverty wages with no benefits.
Survival? I’m just waiting to die. I can’t afford to live and the world just keeps getting worse. Oh, and the clusterfuck of conditions I’d be passing on? Not something worth cursing another human with.
It’s something I can’t avoid, however I can limit it a bit. Elden Ring shipping with EAC is unfortunate, but I trust From Software a lot more after they took down DS3 to fix an RCE exploit. Sure EAC could turn on them, but I feel like a good publisher would be lawyering up the second that happened, especially if it resulted in their game damaging their customer’s hardware.
Edit: not suggesting anyone should install rootkit DRM games, just sharing how I justify living with the ones I already have.
Right? I just switched to Linux full time. I was excited for this game, now it may as well not exist for me.
It’s like NASA training at home. Next stop, SPAAAAAAACE!
Riot: “This Q&A will help regain player trust.”
Also Riot: “You get a rootkit, you get a rootkit! Rootkits for everyone! And stay the hell off Linux!”
Like who?
Yeah, my mind has completely separated conservation with conservative. Most folks I know concerned with conservation efforts, are progressive. Most conservatives I know, want to watch the world burn to turn a profit.
Okay but if progress means validating people who are made to feel invalid by a lack of progress, we’re just in the tolerance paradox with different words.
I appreciate your honest response but, I haven’t heard those intentions from anyone claiming to be conservative until just now.
I think it’s fine to celebrate traditions, even fine to share them when asked, or offer to share them with people you know. My family makes these really specific pancakes for holidays, I love making those, great tradition. Some families deny their children basic healthcare because, traditionally their faith tells them to and that’s child abuse, awful tradition. I get what you mean but it’s a pretty shaky argument. As for waiting and reacting, how much longer do we need to wait to react to things like climate change, the homelessness epidemic, the opioid crisis, childhood cancer? If any of your traditions are against solving those problems, I’m sorry but I’m against those traditions and they aren’t compatible with modern society.
I’m curious, why not find a new title for your political beliefs, and shame modern conservatives who line their pockets with money from big corporations? Sounds like the conservative badge isn’t quite reflecting what you’d like it to anymore.
Then maybe it’s time to start considering if conservative values have a place in our world? What does being conservative entail other than limiting the freedoms of other humans and refusing to spend money on anything but the military? Please give me a legitimate reason why we need to resist progress?
Nah, you have someone starting a dialogue. This is my comment you’ve branched off on so, don’t handwave me away like I’m another random voice chiming in.
I said in another comment here, “People matter more than money, and without people money doesn’t matter.”
This is literally the nuance you seem to want, a dialogue exploring the topic. If you are pro-capitalism, you must hold an awful lot of capital, if you hold a lot of capital, your arguments for you holding that capital are highly biased. If you are pro-capitalism and you don’t hold a lot of capital, why are you helping them and why is it so important to you that people like me suffer?
