4·6 hours agoThat’s interesting. China and India still primarily use coal for electricity generation. Neither are considered developing nations. Many poor countries use coal because its cheap and easy to transport. Instead of throwing money at poor countries why not build natural gas lines and/or nuke plants.

1·6 hours agoThe most annoying part about that is those shit heads are usually casual fans who cant name more than 3 or 4 fighters. I hear you though.

22·7 hours agoOh I see, I disagree heavily but definitely understand why you feel that way and respect it. MMA has never caused a riot. In regards to sides, its not like that in MMA. Individual people get rooted for. By example, I loved to cheer for Dustin Porier because he has a great personality, does a fuck load of charity and was always in great fights. On the other hand I like cheering against guys like Jon Jones because hes a genuinely bad person, seeing him get beat down is great, unfortunately that happens rarely.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think the average Lemmy user is further left than the average reddit user?

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think the average Lemmy user is further left than the average reddit user?
1·13 days agoIts calm, morality is inherently subjective most of the time because it depends on each individuals value system. However, I believe some things are objectively morally wrong. You’re driving down the street and see a random pedestrian, you stop, get out and shoot that pedestrian in the head, killing them. That is objectively morally wrong.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you think the average Lemmy user is further left than the average reddit user?
1·13 days agoWe mostly agree. I’d reiterate that I do think avoiding shameful discourse is paramount to finding common ground which is the position we seem to be stuck on. I’d also say again that ,yes, I think avoiding shame based dialoge is the most morally correct thing in instances like this. But I feel that is an objective fact and not a motivation for me personally. Its been a good discussion and I appreciate the things you’ve said and how they’ve challenged my ideas. I likely wont change my approach much, but, you’ve made the best case I’ve heard so far on this. I’m sure we’ll be at odds again in another ask post, I look forward to future arguments haha.

I agree.
