4·18 days agoI’m also from the UK. Could I ask for a recommendation and price range for your panels? I love the idea of it and know the upfront costs are high but haven’t actually looked into it.

Books@lemmy.world•Do you write up your books once you've finished reading?
4·5 months agoI had the plugin on my browser but found I wasn’t reading big chunks of text on there and it felt clunky. That was like 10 years ago though. I might try again and maybe get an eReader to see if that helps. Thanks!

Books@lemmy.world•Do you write up your books once you've finished reading?
8·5 months agoBecause it already takes me so much time and I feel so ‘behind’ on books, I have a weird mental block to going back instead or instead of reading new things. I do now see what people collect books though 😂

3·5 months agoAa book a year seems completely insane to me! I won’t get to that level but in also ‘worried’ about the intentionally of reading. I don’t want it to just become another source of consumption for the sake of it. While I agree some books will be and that it’s better social media, I want to ve intentional with it.
Glad you’re coming out the other side of it!
Do any of these app have questions or things you like about them more or is it more of the design of the app? I was thinking of more analog ways of recording to help with my memory

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•How many musicians we got here on Lemmy?
7·1 year agoI’m a musician and that doesnt play much any more. I actually found something from the good old days of reddit when cleaning my parents house… A CD… That was sent to me by a stranger from reddit as a music swap. I think the idea is awesome and as much as I love the ability to listen to everything streaming, sitting down and listening to that CD invoked amazing memories I forgot about, and I even found a few bangers I didn’t vibe with all those years ago. Long story short, I wanna do music swaps with people and not just playlists, actual physical music. Don’t know if anyone will read this or how I would even physically send someone music now, but if you’re interested post or DM me and we can figure something out!

Climbing/bouldering. As a not overly sporty nerdy type, I found this to be amazing. All the climbs are called problems and require you to think about how you’re using your body to solve them.
99% of the community is amazing because it’s not really a vs sports in a traditional sense. It’s you vs the wall and even if you do something that is ‘easy’ for someone else if they can see you tried hard they will be pysched for you.
There are lots of beginner groups and meet up days or if you go on regular days, you’ll end up talking to the same people about the climb you’re doing so you build friendship as an adult which is difficult otherwise.
Also it’s not in front of a screen which I love.
I’d try looking for your local gym and doing the intro course and seeing if it vibes with you.
