Expecting the general masses to read on the internet is where the mistake lies. People want to react and to feel outrage. That’s it. No one even cares if the thing is real.

She ended up having to re-clarify what is already said in the post, that the post is about her own insecurities with achieving traditional markers of success. She doesn’t understand what drives her to not be able to stop and considers it her problem.
Reading is hard.

Thanks for taking the time to share your experience with me! I’m sorry those things happened to you and that it had an effect on the way you play in the end.
A lot of the rules were in place to attempt to discourage some of the atrocious behavior I was subjected to.
No doubt, but I don’t think microsoft spends money on that because they altruistically care about your online safety, I think they do it because they are pressured by monetary reasons.
I played a lot of Halo on Xbox live as a teenage girl in the late 2000’s. I sincerely wish they were more stringent about cracking down on assholes.
I appreciate your perspective, thank you for sharing your experience.
One thing I don’t understand is why the built in tools for self managing are insufficient, such as mute and block. If willing, I would be open to hearing your experience with that.
I was never on XBL really, but I’ve been a PC users on counterstrike and league of legends since their inceptions. I can’t say if one service is worse than another but I did watch the efforts to stamp down toxicity over time. I don’t know how successful these efforts were, it seemed futile at best.
Would you share if you feel the current efforts from services like this are effective in making you feel like it’s a safer place for you to game?
The problem starts with these companies feeling obligated to police what you can say over chat. Just to be clear it’s advertisers and payment services that necessitate that. The whole thing about trying to force a “non-toxic community” is a gaslight.

Instead of checking for audio maybe you can write a usescript to run actions based on what’s happening on the website. Dunno tho cuz Im making assumptions at what the problem is.
Album@lemmy.cato Unpopular Opinion@lemmy.world•*PERMANANTLY*. *DELETED*. *BY *. *USER*111·2 years agoThe problem is lumping all anime together like it’s one thing. It would be like comparing toddler toons like bluey, to teenager cartoons (teen titans), to adult ones (st: lower decks).
Shonen (adolescent target) manga/anime is by far the most popular category, but that means a lot of the set/place/characters are of teenaged nature and teenaged topics since that is what is most interesting to that aged group. A dash of sex sells (basic fanservice) and you get a highly competitive target audience in teenagers.
Even western teenager cartoons are a bit sexualized (teen titans) - just to western standards so it’s less noticeable and more in our appetite.
If you apply your 10% standard to western cartoons as a whole you probably fail your own test.
If you DO want to enjoy any cartoons I do think it’s important to find stuff that looks interesting to you, for anime maybe getting into some of the more adult stuff, or the stuff for teens or kids that didn’t do the sex sells part.
I wouldn’t take this as a defense of anime - I don’t even watch anymore, but just providing the context around why you see what you see.

“American cheese” was invented by a Canadian.
It’s also just cheddar with an emulsifier and some milk fat. You can make it in your kitchen in a few minutes.

People and their batteries though… It’s a futile obsession for some. It doesn’t matter how much science or logic you throw at them there’s always something.
Like how fast charging hasn’t for some time done like a full max rate for the entire time to keep heat within tolerances but still some people think doing the work themselves is somehow better thermal management than modern battery controllers to the point they think it will make a material difference.
Hexbear is 100% westerners who’ve bought into authoritarian/fascist rhetoric hook/line/sinker.

It’s one of those things where paying in advance is not a good idea because of how sketch it can be. And you should not use identifiable information when creating an account or paying. E.g. a good provider only accepts crypto.
The only wholesaler I’m currently aware of has been operating for 5+ years the length I’ve been aware of their existence. So there’s definitely trustworthy providers out there. I have no idea how to research good providers since IPTV talk gets shut down every where.
The only people who need to know who the originating sources are are the wholesalers, and I’m pretty sure at that level they have a good sense of who is originating or not. Or maybe they also don’t care as long as it works and the price is right.
At the individual level, you have to assume that your provider is not the originating source - that’s just how it works. Discovering whether or not you are using a reseller or a wholesaler though? It should be fairly easy to tell from the services and support they offer.
“Forgot my wallet?”
