  • Or like w/ real-time-strategy games: even if you leave the AI opponent just one unit left, it never gives up, and will spend days building back what it once had to kill you.

Even RTS bots are better than this now, most games since like SC2 the bots will surrender when it becomes unwinnable.

  • Same where I am, we do not comply for any requests for footage or guest information (hospitality industry) unless we have a warrant. Even with one, we will explicitly only hand over what is specifically requested.

We also keep records of foreign guest passport details. In case you ever wondered what happens to that information when you stay at a hotel, it is stored on a secure server and I am literally the only person at the property with access to that data, and would never hand it over without a very explicit warrant.

Doesn’t stop the cops from asking, but we always refuse. You won’t stay in business long as a hotel that doesn’t at least try to protect guest privacy.

  • Can you begin to imagine being born and living your entire life in a concentration camp? Having children and knowing that they will know nothing but life as a prisoner. Now imagine that just outside your cages a bunch of your jailers are having a party. What would your reaction be?

No, those attendees are not IDF operatives but they are settlers that are part of the Palestinians people’s subjugation. Look, I understand that there are people born in Israel who did not choose to be there and I have some sympathy for specifically those people, though they should not be at a festival next to a concentration camp regardless. However, unlike the Palestinians THEY COULD LEAVE. In fact, in response to the attacks on Saturday many of them did just that. Guess what the Palestinians can’t do, even if they wanted to leave their home.

And the Palistinians have no choice in the way they resist the occupation?

They tried peaceful protests years ago, Israeli forces shot them, specifically targeting medical personnel. The UN investigated it and determined that basically every fatality at the protests were unjustified, and condemned Israel for it. Then the international community proceeded to do absolutely nothing else.

Would you prefer they try that a few more times?

They had one a year ago, that was probably far more favorable than anything they will see now, until their minders shot it down.

This isn’t even close to being a a legitimate peace proposal, at best it is an attempt to spin a “look, those mean Russians won’t accept peace!” news story. There’s nothing even resembling a concession, it reads more like a demand for unconditional surrender.

There’s obviously a chance for a big break through as the first defences are always the heaviest and it should get easier after that

That’s the opposite of Russia’s defensive doctrine, which would only be exacerbated further by the ability to deploy reserves where necessary. It could be a different story if Ukraine wasn’t having to commit their exploitation forces just to try to reach the first lines of defense; even if they break through tomorrow they won’t really have the manpower to do anything with it.
