A new book examines the role of the CIA in the overthrow of Congo's first prime minister Patrice Lumumba and how that led to the last 60 years of instability in Africa's second-largest country.

Not really news in any way, but I thought it was an interesting short read, even if it’s also publicity for the book the interviewee wrote.

    Thank you for sharing. It is indeed an interesting read.
    It’s always saddening to read about what a country’s future could have been, if it weren’t for foreign meddling.

      The book might be interesting, but sadly, non-fiction books are not my thing.

            Not sure there’s really that much difference between a dramatized movie and a dramatized tv show these days.

            It’s about 2h long, so you could probably watch it in four 30-minute chunks and get the same effect.

            It’s probably not very popular subject matter in the west so I don’t think Netflix is about to do a remake any time soon!
