Usually there’s not enough solid pieces when recycling for making clothes and remnants are usually only enough for quilting or similar projects. Few people used to buy an entire ream of the kinda of fabric nice enough for being worth the effort to make clothing from when you could go to places like Joanne’s and cut the exact amount you needed of more expensive material. So I haven’t had any luck with second hand places for fabric, though they are good for things like elastic, fasteners, etc.
