I am curious how this turns out.
America deserves every bit of criticism for where they’re at right now, but I’ve thought for a while that they’re just the first in what might be a worldwide shift towards technofeudalism and its associated far-right politics. Europe is clearly having its own issues, but I hope that the differences in approach means they won’t fall into the same pit as the USA.
Unfortunately, I think there are many more similarities than most people have noticed, or at least than are being discussed. It’s relatively easy to bash American politics and rhetoric, but it can be more difficult to see it at one’s own door – and more difficult still to stop it from coming inside.
