So my dumb ass didn’t save the world before I embarked and I really want to start my fort over; however, when I attempt to generate the world from seeds… I don’t end up with what I had.
The initial world seems to be what I had, but then that working world gets rejected and the final result is not the same.
I know the seeds are working and are the correct seeds because the world name and such are correct but the generation seems off.
I only have DFHack installed, no other mods, it is possible I generated this world before installing DFHack, but I wouldn’t think that would affect things?
Any thoughts?
This is using the steam version and I generated this world back in April of this year (2023), so it hasn’t been that long / many updates
Well, I give up… after a lot of searching online it would seem that rejections are the ultimate killer when it comes to seed regeneration.
Even though I can consistently regenerate the same incorrect version of my world on multiple different machines, the next update might change that due to the rejections.
So lesson learned: if you want to regen a world from seeds, make sure it didn’t have any rejections
