Although the remark about bragging suggests that this guy is unaware of the existence of other standards, which is something he can be legitimately mocked for.
Why are you taking offense to someone saying your lifestyle sounds terrible to them? They’re not saying you must be unhappy, just that they don’t want to live that way.
I don’t want kids, and I’m sure those with kids that they wanted are very happy, and I’m glad there are people for whom that is a happy life because it wouldn’t be to me.
Gotta edit my comment to say I was totally being autistic and completely missed your joke on the first pass, my bad!
I’m not taking offense. It sounded to me like the guy in this image was taking offense. I was asking the same questions, you’re asking me now. “Why would you take offense to someone saying they’re happy?” Clearly I’m the only one interpeting it that way
I don’t know if the original person in the picture meant it that way, but I do know that this meme is frequently used to start an antinatalist circle jerk, so I support you coming out swinging.
It’s a question of figuring out who and what you are. What defines you and gives you purpose as an individual vs tryimg to stuff all of that into a role that leans heavily on another human being doing that for you.
Totally agree. Glad I’m not happy and proud with my life, my relationship and the choices I’ve made.

Lol you don’t need to have kids to be happy/successful and proud of your life.
You do if you have nothing to feel happy or successful about.

That was my point. People with nothing to be happy about often use their children as substitutes.

No, I’m shitting on parents who had kids because they thought the kids would fix their problems.

Are you commenting on yourself? Those quotes back what they said…
Classic false dichotomy
I guess the sarcasm wasn’t as apparent as I thought it would be.
People really misunderstood this comment. Yikes.
My sarcasm wasn’t as apparent as I had hoped.

Really hoping I didn’t come across as an antinatalist because I fucking hate antinatalists. They’re the dumbest fucking people.

Haha thanks for the heads up. No regerts XD

I really don’t understand your phrasing of your original comment then because it was really coming off as passive aggression

Oof, triggered?
They’re trying to convince themselves more than us.
