Welcome to this week’s casual kōrero thread!

This post will be pinned in this community so you can always find it, and will stay for about a week until replaced by the next one.

It’s for talking about anything that might not justify a full post. For example:

  • Something interesting that happened to you
  • Something humourous that happened to you
  • Something frustrating that happened to you
  • A quick question
  • A request for recommendations
  • Pictures of your pet
  • A picture of a cloud that kind of looks like an elephant
  • Anything else, there are no rules (except the rule)

So how’s it going?

I just played real life Fruit Ninja in the back garden with a ridiculously large marrow we grew and our largest kitchen knife. Was fun!

That does sound fun! It also sounds a little dangerous, but dangerous things are often fun.

Got a mate popping over from Australia so meeting up with another mate in Auckland we will do some rubber necking around Auckland then heading down to Ohakune to spend a few nights around Tongariro. Then back up to Auckland to fly down to Christchurch. In the South Island We will probably do some day walks in Arthurs and Lewis Passes, hit up Hamner and the hot pools, grab some fish and chips in Kaikoura. nothing really planed just giving our Aussie mate a slice of Aotearoa.

Oh nice, sounds like you’ve got a great trip planned! Doing that over three weeks should give a nice casual pace too.

This morning one of my kids asked “can I have a hair dryer for my birthday?”

I said we will discuss it closer to the time as they want everything for their birthday. They said “I don’t want everything, I don’t want…” then thought for a full 30 seconds of ums and ahs before saying “I don’t want a broom for my birthday! Well, I do want a broomstick”.
