I have had a few near death experiences including a three hour wait for an operating room and surgeon in which the only thing anyone could do was keep their fingers crossed I didn’t just die before they were ready. Not once did I reach for fairy tales nor did a mythical being that could save the day come to mind. All I thought about was my loved ones and their well-being.

Last year I slipped really bad on a hard wet surface

Falling backwards, realising I had lost complete control of my balance and was at the mercy of gravity, all I could think was “fuck, well, this is an inconvenient and embarrassing way to die”

Just got concussed and hurt my already fucked spine luckily

I was dead and also concur.

This is like the ‘but if it was your child, it would be different!’ line of arguing. No, if I am convinced of something.
