    We already had 2 cats.
When a stray cat started asking to be let in, I was very firm on this:
I don’t want another cat, I’m not gonna let him in, and I’m not gonna feed him.

He’s currently sitting on my lap, purring.

How can you tell if a cat has dementia?

Well, is the cat over 10 years old? There’s a 25% chance that they have Kitty dementia.

That raises to 50% by the age of 15.

      Actual symptoms are listed here.

Symptoms of dementia in cats include:

        Acting disoriented or lost

        Vocalizing, often at night

Staring off into space while looking at a wall or corner

Forgetting to eat or drink unless food bowls are put in front of them

Going to the bathroom outside the litterbox

Changes in sleep cycle, being awake and active in the middle of the night

Unusual interactions with other pets or family members (becoming more needy, more reactive, or more aloof)

Forgetting that they have just been fed and asking to eat again

        Poor grooming habits

        Sleeping more than usual

Except for poor grooming habits and going to the bathroom outside the litterbox most of those are pretty much normal cat behaviour…

For real, if that list should be believed, then all my past cats had early onset dementia.

Wondering the same thing. I just thought my cat was stupid. But maybe it’s a legit medical condition.

Mine too, only he’s also extremely violent when he smells us and realises. My legs are covered in scars after our handful of encounters.

Unfortunately my cat needs to come and go. Sometimes he’s just out there and jumps in (like no hesitation or warning, it’s a jump scare every time)

Sometimes he sits out there screaming to be let in though. And my washing machine is in a shed outside.

As an aside, this was a very creepy notification on my door as my doorbell also creates notifications.

        “Your doorbell has been activated”

        “Don’t open the door”
