    You can’t freeze a credit score.

    The scores can and usually will still change even while frozen.

    What you can do is enable a security freeze on your credit account, which disallows a credit score from being provided to a bank for assessing your credit worthiness of a loan or credit card or mortgage or afterpay/klarna/microloan type thing.

    Freezing your credit is mostly a way of making it so that someone with your personal info can’t open a fraudulent account in your name.

    There are three companies, credit bureaus, in the US that keep giant permanent records of everyone’s credit history.

    TransUnion, Equifax and Experian.

    Your credit history and other info can differ between all three of them, if there are errors, you have to get them resolved with each one seperately.

    There are many different algorithms / scoring models that each of these 3 will use to calculate your actual score.

    VantageScore and FICO are the main ones, and the algorithm for each gets updated every few years.

    So… you can have a FICO or VantageScore from TransUnion, Equifax and Experian.

    Different banks or apartments or car loans will all use different scores from different bureaus, and there is usually no way to tell exactly scoring model they’ll use before hand… and actually fully applying for anything that requires a ‘hard inquiry’ into your credit history… that in and of itself will hurt your credit score.

    CreditKarma and KikOff will give you your Vantage Scores for free, but not FICO scores.

    CreditKarma will only give you TransUnion and Equifax scores, but KikOff also gives you Experian.

    Beyond that, other companies have other apps that may give you scores not provided by CK or KO, but you generally have to pay a monthly subscription for that.

    When I smoked cigs, I was literally always the only person who’d always bother to properly throw away butts, even got a psuedo MGS4 style cigarette butt container for when no buttcans or trash cans were nearby.

    A few people I’d smoke with would follow my lead.

    Most of them just saw me giving a shit about trashing them properly and tell me to go fuck myself, fagg*t, etc.

    Why are most smokers so frivolous, entitled and agressive with littering?

    They don’t give a fuck.

    About their own health, or anyone else’s, or the environment.

    …

    Other comments are saying smokers think the filters, the butts, are biodegradeable.

    They aren’t.

    You can only use that excuse if you’re rolling rollies or spliffs, or tapping out a spent pipe.

    RFK Jr has seriously proposed sending drug addicts, which he defines as people taking prescribed medication for mental health reasons, as well as your more stereotypical hardcore drug addicts… to basically agricultural work / detox camps.

    No meds, no phone, live in a barracks, do farm work… while you and everyone else are cold turkey quitting heroin, or fentanyl, or ritalin or zoloft or wellbutrin.

    Over a decade ago, Obama proposed significantly expanding AmeriCorps, the tea party Republicans basically did everything they could to water down the expansion to amount to basically nothing.

    I wonder if Twitter Republicans even know AmeriCorps exists…

    Anyway, what we should actually do is mandate that everyone who earns double area median income for 3 years in a 5 year period has to spend 6 months working in a call center, retail, customer service, fast food.

    According to Mutahar:

    1. The Anti Cheat has already been bypassed by a free cheat menu on Windows.

    2. He’s fairly sure he has figured out some kind of way to temporarily bypass (as in, it’ll probably get caught in a few weeks) the linux block by some kind of custom virtualization method (requiring only one GPU) that he says he may explain in detail at some point.

    In general, he’s done with playing GTO.

    But yeah, obligatory reminder for BattleEye and EasyAntiCheat games that refuse to allow linux play:

    All these game devs have to do is flip a switch, click a few options in their developer portals, to allow BattleEye or EAC to work on linux, through Proton.

    And its been that way for 3 years, since 2021.

    There is literally no reason for games that use these services to not work on linux, the devs just don’t fucking care.

    As well as apparently multiple hundreds of …negatively…? executed CREATE, ALTER or DROP commands … averaging out to 0 per second.

    … resulting in a spike of negative, I dunno, 30mb/s of reads.

    Mhm yep.

    My initial guess is that failed/malformed attempts to … do something … are being registered as negative instead of being actually displayed as failed.

    But that seems to make too much sense.

    Second guess: Lightning strike.

    Third guess: Arcane, hitherto unseen bug or series of bugs utterly and totally unique to this exact set up which has somehow never occurred or been noticed before.
