  • You mean the vibecoded site made by and for cryptobros that were upset it didn’t get the audience it wanted is already fading out? Shocker.

Legitimately don’t get why this one “won out” after musk took over twitter, especially when Mastodon is right there. ATProto is a dogshit excuse for a federated protocol, the only thing the site has going for it is the blocklist feature which is easily abused, and the team behind the entire site are a bunch of AI-shill neocons.

Honestly ever since they dropped the invite system it fell off so hard, but it was doomed from the start anyway

Following for interest. It’s the most sketchy social media app I linger on to just to keep in touch with a small handful of folks. It’d be nice to find an alternative client. Last I checked I don’t think there are any revanced/morphe patches for it, though I should check that again.

  • I look at Waterfox as the “backup” option because of things like that. It’s not nearly as strong, but if a site’s broken or I’m setting up a device where I don’t nearly care as much, it’s a decent choice that’s better than base Firefox or anything Chromium-based

Kinda like Ironfox vs Fennec on Android, the former is my go-to, the latter is the backup

  • I can’t even think of the last AAA game that I played through. Maybe Ghost of Yotei, which was fine but nothing to sing praises over (though the cast was fantastic, I’ll give it that).

Indie and AA games have been far more interesting than any AAA slop for years now, especially console exclusive slop. PoE2 and Warframe are dominating the AA live service market, Deltarune’s back in conversations with the new chapter release, so many weird little obscure titles that are just far more interesting than whatever Sony and MS are pumping out. Hell, over the past year some of my favorite single player games have been super oddballs like Cruelty Squad, Funi Raccoon Game, and Fuck’s Quest II

Rambling aside, I don’t see myself ever caring about a game enough to buy a new console for it at this point. Even Nintendo’s lost my interest ages ago and I grew up obsessed with their games.

  • The biggest thing I fought with since getting started has been audio. First figuring out how to make an Elgato device cooperate (not exactly the most linux-friendly company to say the least), then setting up virtual sinks and routing everything appropriately, and finally getting my mic to not sound like actual garbage.

Frustrating as hell and a very long process to get all of that working out, but definitely learned a lot from it.

Yeah this is just an AI slop project by the look of it. Realistically I think fluxer is going to be the “winner” when discord does finally implement age verification, and while even that one’s fairly vibecoded, it doesn’t come close to the levels of AI bullshit in this one.

  • I’ve been looking at IVPN as well. Nym seems interesting but seems very new and idk if they offer Wireguard configuration files (I don’t think they’re even WG-based? I could be wrong)

I’m sitting on Mullvad for a week to do research into alternatives. Apparently their support team is handing out full refunds far outside their typical policy because of this shitshow, no questions asked. IVPN so far is looking promising, but I don’t know a damn thing about the company and people behind it.

it’s not just the one dumb motherfucker in charge, it’s practically the entire goddamn government. anyone who isn’t vocally outspoken against AI companies and aiming to put a hard stop to their data centers is fully responsible for any and all harm they’re currently causing (and the hardware inflation is such a minor part of said harm).

anyway abolish capitalism and send techbros to the guillotines
