  • hey, ive also begun a cooking journey a couple weeks ago! mainly to meal prep for work, cus getting stuff at the food court where I work definitely adds up quickly. from this perspective I’ve been buying veggies that I can use for a week or 2 (potatoes, bell peppers, onion) in bulk, and getting what I want for the week at the grocery store. ive been making a lot of chicken and rice meals with different veggies/themes like this and they’ve turned out pretty ok. ive made a simple recipe with broccoli, potatoes and carrots, a japanese inspired curry recipe with potatoes, carrots and onion, and an american southwest styled recipe with bell peppers, beans, and salsa and ive been pretty happy with how they’ve all turned out. they give me enough variety to not get sick of what I prep through the week, and are all simple enough that I can make 8-ish meals in one batch with 3 big bowls, 3 pans for the oven, a pan for the stove, a cutting board, 2 knives, and containers for each meal.

  • incredibly! i tried to avoid most of the lines by riding past the new stations but I decided to check out mercer islands station and had to wait at the platform for 3 trains to pass to finally get on the fourth. even then the train I got on was still sardine packed. for some reason soundtransit decided to run a bunch of 3 car trains on opening day so I don’t think that helped at all…

that is kinda what I’m trying to do. truenas is nice and all but its also pretty advanced and not beginner friendly when it comes to a lot of things. I’ve heard a lot about casaos from a youtuber that I like to watch, but I never realized that it was more of a nas os than just a platform to run applications. I’ll give it a shot! thanks for the recommendation.

  • haven’t seen any comments mentioning connect yet, so that would be my recommendation. by far the most fully featured and smooth lemmy app imo and its my favorite. I’ve used most other apps but I always come back to connect because of all the different ways I can customize it and all the settings I can change that I simply don’t see in a lot of other apps.
