On a 9th grade trip to six flags, we were riding the brand-new Titan roller coaster, and my girlfriend at the time decided to ride with her best friend while I rode with the friends BF. We rode the train after, and when we got off she was standing on the platform covered in blood getting screamed at by some woman who had been riding behind her claiming that my GF had bled all over her on the ride. It turned out that someone at the very front of the ride got hit in the face with a bird on the first big drop and sprayed blood all over everyone behind them the rest of the ride.

Sounds like some “Type 3” fun. Great story.

Regarding the “market tripled in size” I assume that means the amount of sales not users. So fewer people playing them, but they are buying more games.

Soapbox@lemmy.zipto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Do most ppl feel the desire to tell someone (such as their SO) about their day?English2·7 days agoOnly if something actually interesting happened. Interesting enough for me to still care about it once I walk out the office door. I think it irritates my wife that I don’t have more to tell her about my workday. But for me, I pretty much just mentally flip a switch when work is done, and don’t give a shit about it until 9am the next work day. I say this as someone who generally likes their job. I’m also lucky to work somewhere with no drama.
On the other hand, I have a coworker who has several 20+ minute phone calls with his wife throughout the day, where they tell each other literally every fucking thing that has happened to them since the last call. I cannot wrap my head around that level of co-dependency.

Soapbox@lemmy.zipto Mildly Infuriating@lemmy.world•Seeing shit like this kills me. People are so ignorant.English7·8 days agoI went to college in a small town, there was a festival every fall in the old downtown area, and a religious group would get a booth right in front of the bar we liked to go to. They would forcibly hand out those tiny little new testaments to everyone trying to walk into the bar. The bar owner put a 50 gallon trash can right inside the door. It was full of those bibles. Such a waste of paper.
See, my cynical self assumed they both were hoping to lock you down as a BF or husband to mooch off of you, and cheat like crazy while you are deployed.
Maybe I have just heard those stories too many times, from people I know who were in the military.
