For me its because a lot of movies from the 80s and 90s are hard to find. Not everything exists online anymore. Popular movies generally do but ive had issues finding some things.

And then fast forward another 30 years. Will good movies from today still be there and will we be able to get them as easily?

If you mainly watch modern movies, then this is a not a problem. But I think a lot of modern movies are really stupid. :)

Most people dont do that themselves. They just download. Some people, specially in Russia, just stream movies from sites that exist. I dont do that but its popular.

I think it trains your brain to be even more impatient and when you talk to people in real life, you will think everyone is slow and annoying.

Lucky to get anything? YouTube couldnt even have grown at all if it was a paid product from the start. People made it into the success it is, by using it, because it was free.

Now when its a monopoly, they do a bait and switch.

People pay for features they want. YouTube did a bait and switch and launched their service with all the features that were expected, such as running in the background, no ads, fast forwarding and everything else.

Now when the service is a monopoly, they are removing features instead of adding things that are worth extra money.

Buy a nas, start storing your own media. All subscription services will remove content, raise prices and introduce more ads. Its not a question of if but when.

Yeah. People have been surprised many times when my patience finally runs out. :) Sounds like the same for you.

Yeah its a touch display that allows the user to set temperature and other settings, and its showing the current temperature inside. But unfortunately i think it has broke. The freezer still runs but I cant change any settings now. One day I will try to unpower it but im afraid to do it. :) Who knows if it will start…

I feel the same, but I just have a nas for my movies so I can enjoy them forever. Most of the current new movies are full of bullshit so I also mostly watch older movies where humanity still exists. You have to start gathering movies like this on physical media or they just will be gone whenever the streaming service wants them to.

I run Linux so I dont need to update my computer.

I dont have Facebook or Instagram.

I use Freetube app on my computer instead of YouTube so I dont have to see shorts, or ads for that matter.

I use Newpipe on my phone for the same reason.

So you can do some things to stay away from bullshit.

I have learned to never update any tv or media player, it usually becomes worse. :)

It may be possible to factory reset to the version you got from the beginning. Just have to figure out how.

I have a freezer from them, it has worked well. Took a chance on the brand. But now it seems the display has broke after 3 years only… Hmm.
