minus-squareSadbutdru@sopuli.xyzlinkfedilinkarrow-up3·2 months agoI think I’ve seen Gideon bibles in UK and Australian hotel rooms. They’re just there in the drawer, in case you want to read it. Not very in your face. Bit like the iron or the hairdryer.

minus-squarecally [he/they]@pawb.sociallinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up3·2 months agoOh, now that you mentioned it yeah it makes sense that it’s common in the rural US.
minus-squareRusty@lemmy.calinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up2·2 months agoI’ve only seen Bibles in some US hotels, never seen them in Canada or in Europe.
minus-squareSpaceCowboy@lemmy.calinkfedilinkarrow-up3·2 months agoYeah it’s the Gideons that put the Bibles in hotels. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Gideons_International It’s an international organization, but based in the US so they obviously focus more on the US.
minus-squaretigeruppercut@lemmy.ziplinkfedilinkarrow-up2·2 months agoI’ve seen them occasionally in Japan hotels as well, but it’s pretty rare
